Unfortunately I have Lonnie Scruggs book and to tell you the truth the book doesn’t have any information in it that you can’t get from this forum or by searching google.
Do a search for any info on mobile home investing and you can get probably better info.
The forms he includes aren’t anything you can use either.
Sorry for the negative post but I’m real disappointed.

Ok…ok. Your replies prove it.
The book is great and I really work for Lonnie and wanted to stir up a little controversy to see if I couldn’t kick up our book sales this month. Hopfully a few more bite from reading these posts.
Thanks guys!
John
P.S. Tampa Jim I am involved in some things that are a little more ‘creative’, thanks for the suggestion.

Lonnie and Tony, or CRE ONLINE for that matter could charge for the use of this board. Most likely people would pay for it. Giving $30 to Lonnie for the book is the least we all can do. Lonnie could not make that much money on each book sold. I am sure he could have made more money going out and doing a few deals. But Lonnie likes to help people. You can tell by is actions. I think its unreasonable to even bring up the cost of the book. Briton (IN)

I think that Lonnie, Tony and all the others who share their knowledge here are great. I bought the book and they deserve the credit and rewards due them. It is very reasonable at the price. I think they are great

I actually did Lonnie deals before I ever heard of Lonnie or a computer for that matter. Still can learn from other people’s experience. You’ve heard ears open, mouth shut? His material is the price of one cheap ceiling fan but neither will work if you don’t put them to use.

from which I have made $80,000 on 23 deals ( I know, its skinny). My current net Investment after 27 months is $0 (zero). Oh, did I mention I just bought a new truck.
Happy Trail(er)s,

Obviously you are a much more sophisticated and practiced investor than the many people who monitor this site on a regular basis. At least it would seem so from your snide comments. Your comments at the least are rude and at best are just noises in your head. May I suggest that you get involved with something more creative than “trailers”

John,
I can go on the internet and look up thousands of articles to find the meaning of certain words. However, I would rather spend $30 and buy a dictionary. Lonnie’s book is the dictionary. All the posts are built off of the book.
Lastly, say you had a question, you can contact Lonnie. That kind of access for $30 is amazing.
How hope your investing goes well. Chris

WOW!!
Didn’t realize my post would get so much attention. Thanks for your comments (and some of your sarcasm too).
Actually, it’s not the concept of mobile home investing, it’s the content of the book.
Congratulations to those who are profiting from it (and of course those who pretend to have profited from it) but you could have done your deals without this book. That’s my only point.
There are other resources out there about m.h. investing, just check ebay. Some of them contain better content and are more helpful.

Wow, what a shame… An hour ago I bought a home over the telephone for $580 (new furnace central air, and water heater) and sold it the next phone call for $1200. Never stepped into it, never saw it. This is a “little Lonnie Deal”… not typical (most I get more of a return on) but why be a HOG (read Lonnies book you will find it). I have learned so much from his books I re-read them when I am confronted with a deal structured a little differently than I normally see… let me see I know I saw this somewhere in here. By now my copies are tattered and dog-eared. This web site for me is a great motivator. But like Tony said, its not for everyone.

Sorry you feel that way. We started to do Lonnie Deals without the book then we bought one, then two and currently my partner, his two sons and my son and myself have our own copies. Whenever business slows down WE RE-READ the book. Several are getting well worn but we have 31 completed Lonnie’s and 4 pending (2 just ready for sale and 2 accepted offers to buy … next month after the Seller pays March lot rent.) We have proved it works…part time, doubling and tripling our investment Plus a good return…if you DO the book insteasd of thinking why it won’t or why the book is no good!
THANKS LONNIE!

You are correct that we discuss a lot of the material in Lonnie’s books but certainly not all of it. The posts here simply fine tune questions people face. Many times the answers are straight out of the book because the people either didn’t buy the book yet, or simply missed some point.
Posts here are no substitute for the book. I assure you that if you were to try and start mobile home investing today solely based upon the posts here, you would make mistakes that would cost you dearly. One mistake the book saves you from can pay for the book many, many times over.
Mobile home investing is not for everyone and perhaps your disappointment is simply you telling us that you are not that type of person. The book did not contain a magic button for you to push to make you rich, it simply told you how to take action to make yourself better off.
Many of us here started with that little book and changed our lives for the better in dramatic fashion. You were disappointed?
I have spent $30 on meals that I was disappointed with but I certainly was not disappointed spending $30 on his book.
Let me ask you this. How many other investing books have you put on your shelf without acting? Most folks, myself included have some on their shelves they will never use. I can also assure you that we paid much more than $30 for most of them.
Tony

Yes, alot of the same info is covered on this site, but where do you think the info came from to begin with? I have read alot of “how to” books on alot of different subjects, and for $29.00, I have NEVER reread one as much as Lonnie’s first book. I’ve had mine for almost two years & I’m STILL going back and reviewing it. It’s to the point where I might actually have to order a second copy 'cause my first one is about to fall apart!
Also, the book you can carry with you to your next deal-the computer you can’t!

Tell you what I’ll do (if you’re reasonable I’ll work with you.)
I’ll give you $5.00 for each book (CASH!).
I will then sell them to someone else for $20 each (on payments).
Gotta run…Post Office closing soon.

I wish someone had told me this before I read the book and made over $12000 dollors on my first 2 deals. Oh, wait, I guess I am glad that I had sense enough to not listen to all of the negative comments from everybody that said it wouldnt work.
The book is a motivator and also a wealth of information. $12000 worth of wealth for me.

You should read this post.

A lot of us disagree with you. Yes, you can find a lot of the info in the posts but the book puts it all together for you and is a good starting point. I see lots of people come here and ask questions that they wouldn’t ask if they had read the book first.
Also, this site has a 60 refund so maybe you should just send it back?

Steve,
80K in 27 months.
That’s $2962/month or $35,555/year.
Do you realize you can do 1 deal per year in traditional real estate and make that money?
