Hi,
I am a newbie and have been reading the post here for while.
First and foremost I want to thank all the people here on this site for making a difference in lives of newbies like us. I never had the so called “reading” habbits and my family wondered why I was the only person in the family with no reading habbits …WELL thats has changed ever since I came to this site. NOW they joke about it saying I have become one of them
Well coming back to my question. RE Convention
2)How does the whole convention work, do all the people stay in the same hotel or place where the convention is…
Well You guys are getting the drift…, JUst some insight into Convention and the expenses
Thanks you very much

Hi MK,
Welcome to our community. This year’s Convention will be
in Atlanta, GA on March 28, 29 and 30. The cost will
be under $700. This INCLUDES your hotel room for 3 nights,
a big buffet breakfast every morning, and a very nice
dinner Friday night.
You would need to cover your own airfare, plus other meals.
On Thursday, March 27, we will be offering 6 additional
optional 4-hour workshops, which are more intensive. I
believe we charged $70 or so last year for each workshop.
And I expect that price to stay the same.
Hope this answers your questions, and I hope we get to
meet you in person in Atlanta!

We have a price that includes hotel and one that does not, for those people who live in the area. It usually runs approx. $150.00- $200.00 cheaper. We have several customers who have attended every CRE Online convention. Every year JP does an outstanding job of bringing in new speakers who can offer both new and seasoned investors top notch information. Not to mention all of the wonderful posters you will be able to meet. Hope you are all able to join us.

It’s less if you don’t need the hotel. We’ll post all the
details within the next couple of weeks. Believe me, Michaela,
experienced investors still get a LOT out of this event.

Marcos,
I’d spend $700 just to meet you. We could discuss Subject To investing, your favorite subject too. LOL

have been to lots of conventions here (not creonline) and have yet to come across one, that doesn’t cater to the largest common denominator - the newbie - which makes it extrememly boring for people, that have been in the biz for a while.

Ahhh Michaela, I too have been to many conventions but none like this one.
This one was amazing. The ability to spend time with many of the regulars on this board. To pick their brains. To see a different way to do things. To spend time with the “other” Jim Kennedy. Ken in SC. Phil Fernandez. Redline. Karl (Oh). Michael Morrangeillo. Ed Garcia. Lonnie Scruggs. Steve Cook. Jim Rayner. Ron (md). JT-IN. David Alexander. The Vaughns. I mean, the list goes on and on and on… And I’m sure I missed half the people I spoke to last winter.
That is priceless. I say I spent about 4 hours in the lecture hall, and about 40 hours in the bar and in the lounge.
Doubtful you’ll find much else that can compare. Well, maybe a Jack Miller seminar. But not much else.

No question that this convention is geared for newbies, but you can still pick up some useful information by networking with other experienced investors. And if word gets out that you have been doing this for a few years, you’ll be treated like a guru as all of the newbies flock to you to ask you questions.

Hi Michaela,
One good thing about the CREOnline convention is the diversity of information. Yes, there is PLENTY for the newbie, but there’s also enough to keep the rest of us interested. For full-timers who have some experience behind 'em, there are the experts who’ve been at this for decades. What a wealth of knowledge to be able to tap into! Just the opportunity to network with other like-minded individuals is worth allocating the time and money to attend. In past years, I was more often chatting in the foyer than I was in the lecture hall. Unfortunately, a scheduling conflict prevented my attendance this past year, but I’m really looking forward to next year. The BEST part of the convention for me is the opportunity to meet some of the terrific folks who regularly post here.
Since it’s in your city, I hope to get the chance to meet you there.
Best of Success!!
Jim Kennedy,

gerals,
at this point in time i don’t think i will come. seeing the price and that it includes hote, which i don’t need (live 10 min. from hotel). as much as i’d like to meet the people, that are posting on this board, i have a lot of investors here to network with anytime i want to. and i don’t care to be worshipped as a guru - i’m far from that ;-).
maybe i’ll change my mind, if i happen to have a chunk of extra money laying around next year - who knows?

I have to agree with Jim. Whether or not you get some “golden nugget” of knowledge that puts you into high gear, this is one of the few places you can sit with people who understand what it is you do! I remember at the convention last year (2001), one of the first things someone said was, “How many of you told your friends you were going to a real estate convention?” Not many hands… People I work with often think the r/e investors in our workplace are nuts. We’re either scamming people or doomed to failure because “that stuff doesn’t work.”
I had a blast meeting folks who HAVE made it work! I sat at the dinner with two wonderful ladies who have been doing investing for years and they were VERY successful at it. Listening to the stories of how they got started really got me pumped up about the whole real estate investment process.
The other thing that I found interesting was “open mike night” as I called it, where you got to talk to the “experts” in much smaller groups. Not only are the speakers like Bill Bronchik involved, but guys like my friend Steve Case and Steve Cook some of the other guys who are making this work on a daily basis. Talk about motivation!
Go. Enjoy. Learn.

In the keeping of the “Rules of the Creonline Convention”, we must do our all out best, to top that event. I will begin resting up, (and saving up) now. Can’t wait… to be honest.
See you then…

Michaelahhh,
Tim Fierro already has the corner of the bar reserved for us. I think it is to late for him to get a refund, so let’s not dissapoint Tim. I have some great ‘FOWL’ stories to tell. We can shoot for 10 out of 10 on Tim’s weekly list.
