I agree with you, if you are an experienced investor these things tend to be a waste of time and money.
Most are like Mary Kay conventions and typically make a ton of money for the organizers.
Same for the Ed and Terry WLOC seminars, although Im sure they are wonderful people, they are making a ton of money off the classes they give and the great majority of their students dont do anything with the information they receive. $2600 X 100 = $260,000 per class. Pretty good chunk of change. Im just jealous that I didnt think of it.
I went a step further, I already have plane tickets.
I had a bit of trouble last year at the last minute for plane tickets, so I told myself there is no way I am not going to have tickets in advance. So I purchased the tickets online so I know I have a seat on the plane.

Regarding Ed and Terry’s Lender’s Workshop: It seems to me that too many investors that have attended that workshop do use the info and think it is worth paying for. Registration is limited to 100 people for the weekend. I would think just having access to Ed and Terry for the weekend would be worth the $$. If I have the $2.6K in time to pay for the workshop, I’ll be there this year.
As for the CREonline Convention, I thought it was a wonderful and affordable place to get inspired and learn some new ideas. And I didn’t buy anything except Steve Cook’s very inexpensive wholesaling course. There were a lot of experienced investors there that said they were there because it inspired them as well.
No doubt that the convention and workshop are created to make money. But there is plenty to learn there.

It is NOT a waste of time and money. I’ve been doing this stuff 25 years and the CREOnline Convention is time and money well spent, plus it’s alot of fun. Have you been to one of the conventions in the past?
None of us, no matter how experienced, can know evrything. Every year I come away from the CREOnline Convention with renewed enthusiasm and a ton of new wrinkles and ideas on how to run my re investing business.
The CREOnline Convention is definitely the biggest bang for your buck. I’m going to be attending my 5th straight in March 2003. And if you attend John, I’ll show you some creative wringles you’ve never even contemplated before.
and you paid $2995, you are going to p**s and moan about it??? maybe you got more out of it than I did and were able to use it more often. That would make it cheaper for you because of the number of times you used it. Get over it.
However, my original point was not the cost of the class, it was that most of the people who take the class dont actually use what they may have learned.
It was also that the class makes tons of money for the instructors and I was just jealous that I had not thought of it.
So, if the class is $2995 thats $299,500 to split among the instructors if the class is full. Much better gig than buying and selling in a few houses.

i’m not upset at you, but at creonline, if they give different prices to different people. is the 2600 a previous price or one that was quoted to you for the upcoming one?
