Has anyone heard of “World Lending Group”? If so, what are your thoughts/opinions about their programs/concepts and business opportunity?
Thanks.

Has anyone joined in the past couple of months? What are your thoughts?
Has anyone had any success with this company? Is a six figure income a reality with some hard work?

I have been approached to join their group, and have not done so. In my humble opinion anytime you get inexperienced “originators” involved in the mortgage business you are asking for trouble.
When someone comes to you and applies for a mortgage loan there are several lives involved. The lives of the seller, the buyer and their families. The dream of home ownership is still held in high regard by many people and to have that hope dashed by “originators” who simply refer you to another and another and another in the hope of obtaining a loan is beyond my scope of business.
I try to run an ethical, honest and “referrable” business. I hope this company will do the same. This is ONLY my opinion, not my experience.

I made the mistake of signing up with them. It was a very big mistake on my part.

I?ve been following this thread for a while and thought I would add my $.02 worth. I joined World Lending Group earlier this year. Naturally, I performed quite a bit of due diligence before joining and learned of some of the complaints (similar to those outlined in this forum thread) voiced by some that have become mortgage brokers through World Lending Group. I have no doubt that many of the complaints are valid. Personally, initially I had problems with the fees to sign up and the costs associated with having business cards and letterhead. However, I?m still glad I signed up. These are my thoughts (or rationalizations) why I?m still glad. You be the judge of whether these thoughts make any sense.
World Lending Group is not for everyone. I see it as an organization where to an extent, I?m expected to act as an entrepreneur ? figure out how to make things happen. I guess it could happen, but don?t expect someone to take you by the hand and show you what to do, where and how to find your clients. I received guidance regarding training and on-the-job training in setting up a loan to be processed, most of the time I had to ask questions about how to do something.
I was attracted to the mortgage brokerage industry by the 7-figure incomes that I had heard some in the industry were making. Did I expect to get rich quick? No. Did I expect it to be easy? I suspected it would be a challenge that would take time and energy to make successful, like anything else. (Something you should know about me ? I?m a former bank executive and commercial loan officer. I?ve also successfully started and built two businesses ? I?m an entrepreneur at heart and I know how hard one must work to make a business successful.) World Lending Group is a relatively new organization. Like most young organizations, WLG has experienced growing pains that have caused problems (delays) for customers. From time to time, I expect it to experience additional pains. Unfortunately, growing pains are often a fact of business life. I am impressed that WLG management is aware of and responds to problems that have materialized from time to time ? problems with the timeliness of loans processing because of high loan volume, making sure that brokers are properly trained, etc.
Although I fear sounding like an advertisement for WLG, let me explain what attracted me to the organization: it offers a person most of the tools they need to help borrowers find attractive mortgage loans - in particular the “Power Option” loan. With this and other mortgage loan products, WLG shows it brokers how to help home owners improve their cash flow and their overall financial condition via a mortgage loan. For someone who may not have had any prior experience in the mortgage industry, it offers an opportunity to make money and gain experience. Most other companies in the industry require at least one year of experience. It offers me the opportunity to focus on bringing in mortgage business or, if my cup of tea is management, to recruit people who will bring in mortgage business, or both.
It?s not a perfect system and as I mentioned earlier, it?s not for everyone. Yes, I too have wondered about the fees we pay to become a part of WLG and to receive business cards and literature. I would imagine someone is making a nice profit, but that?s their business. I believe WLG is a pretty good opportunity for someone that is determined to learn what they need to know about the business and determined to develop the business that needs to be developed.
I hope you find $.02 worth, make that $.01 worth, helpful.

I am a WLG leader, and I can tell you first hand that World Lending Group is a WONDERFUL outfit. Sure, it is not get rich quick, but if you work at it day in and day out and have a vision, there is some significant money. There are always going to be people who cannot make it work for one reason or another, but when you get right down to it if you don’t make money with World Lending Group, the only person you can blame is yourself. This company is an emerging giant and is revolutionizing the mortgage business.

I have been invited to one of their meetings and am very interested in signing up. What was your bad experience with them and do they really do what they say they will do for you? The company has not even been in existence for a year so BBB is not a helpful reference at this point. Thanks to all who answer!

Dear Mr. Scott, in defense of the victims of WLG…no-one pays $215 in nonrefundable fees if they don’t think there’s a possibilty of at least making that much money back. In your comments, you utilize the exact same catch phrases that I?ve heard from every WLG recruiter that I?ve come in contact with ??this is not a get rich quick scheme??,??have a vision??,??growing pains??,??if you don’t make money with World Lending Group, the only person you can blame is yourself??,?This company is an emerging giant and is revolutionizing the mortgage business??
Let me explain these catch phrases in English
I hope this helps to clear a little of the smoke and mirrors. One last thing, you never did answer the question of how many loans you?ve closed personally.

Another thing that I forgot.
I spent no time on recruiting but I have several people sign up under me. I would spend time helping people after they signed up.
Guess what no of them closed any loans either.

I would look at the websites for the lenders that WLG uses I would read the product guidelines so I knew the products.
I would then tell people yes I can do that loan for you. They would go to the website but when they tried to fill out the form it would say that we could not do that due to LTV.
But I knew that based on the persons credit ect that the loan could be done. The website was spossed to be a tool that I could use to do loans in multible states but it was killing loans before I could even get the aplication.
The form also did not require that a person put in a phone # or email. I had one loan processing calles me and says credit file looks good but we need for you to call them and get some info. I said sure just give me the number but we don’t have it and it is unlisted. It was round and round with them.
Like I said it was a big waste of my time.
So how many loans have you closed with them?

I worked it!
I understand internet marketing in and out. So the first thing that I did was to get started on getting my website ranked high on the search engines. My site was comming up way before the corparate site.
I had also taked a mortgage home study course before hearing about WLG.
So I started getting aplications. The first three were sent back to me because WLG had changed the form on the website. I am a consultant and work on the road so by the time the aplications came in and the forms caught up to me the aplications were over 30 days old. These loans should have been closing not me calling up to restart the aplication.
Then I get in an aplication for a loan of over $400,000 but it just disapears from my pipeline with no word from WLG. So I call my upline and ask what the hell? A few days later he forwards an email from someone who says the person wanted X for a rate and since it was a Jumbo loan that rate was not doable. So I email back a rate sheet from one of the lenders that WLG is signed up with showing that it was doable. So I get another lame excuse, I shoot that one down. Then they come back on the third try and say that they all ready knew another WLG person and it was a mistake to submit on my site.
On every loan aplication that I had I was never able to get an answer about anything.
I had a processor call me from the LV office about a loan. A few minutes latter I tried to call back with the info she needed. But her voice mail box was full!
I had people drop out of my piepline with no explination and my upline was not able to get any answers. MY AMD quit returning my calls.
So before you start telling me that is was my fault you need to get your facts straight. The reason that I did not make money with WLG was that the processing department was worthless!

I am with WLG and I have made very good money with them and my Group and I are have meeting every week and show people how to get more for less. If you had a bad exerience you got into the business for the wrong reason in the 1st place (get Rich Quick) if you dont work the system you will give up and fail in anything you do stick with something you can work a job and make 10 cent on the doller or cash in on a system. I am sorry you had a bad experience but you must get the big picture or you will fail in any MLM

They were more interested in recruiting than closing loans. They were taking so long that customers gave up and went someplace else. I also had other things happen but I don’t want to talk about them in public.
Feel free to call me in the evenings 318-547-2574
