Relax and enjoy Christmas, I’m pretty sure the banks will be closed on Monday too! I realize it’s a lot easier to give this advice than to take it. Let’s face it, everybody (except you and I) took today off. I tried calling my attorney around lunch time today about something not nearly so pressing, and I’m not suprised he didn’t get back to me, I’m not even sure they were in the office at all today.
Illinois (and most other states) have pretty strict laws regarding those who have a fiduciary responsibility, such as the escrow closer. And, let’s face it, title companies, and banks do make mistakes. I’m sure it will all get sorted out on Tuesday.
