I am planning to rebuild my backyard deck this year and I decided that composite decking is probably the best direction for me. I want something that lasts longer than traditional wood and does not require constant sealing, staining, or replacing damaged boards every couple of years. Maintenance is a big concern for me because I simply do not have the time to refinish a deck every season.
Right now I am trying to figure out where people usually buy quality composite decks. Do most homeowners purchase from local building supply stores, specialty decking suppliers, or directly from manufacturers? I would really like to see the boards in person before committing because color and texture matter a lot when the deck becomes the main outdoor space for family gatherings.
While researching different options I came across Evodek and it seems like an interesting brand. From what I can tell Evodek composite boards are designed to resist moisture, fading, and general outdoor wear. That sounds great in theory, but I would like to hear real experiences from people who have actually installed Evodek decking.
I am also curious about installation. Do Evodek boards work with standard hidden fastener systems or do they require a special installation method? Another question I have is about long term durability. Has anyone here had Evodek decking installed for several years and how well has it held up?
