Newspaper, Realtors, Mortgage brokers etc.

Post this on the Notes and paper forum… for a better response.

I have had a few income properties for a while and am now considering purchasing notes. All the math looks good, but where do people buy them from! Do you have to have a license to buy?

Thanks for your help.

You don’t need a license to buy notes, any more than you need a license to buy a car. If, however, you’re going to “deal” in notes, you may well need a license; just like you’d need a license to “deal” in cars.

Sam,
Notes are relatively easy to come by once you get out dealing in the world of paper and there are many ways to do that.

You can search for note holders, you can advertise that you buy notes. Your ads can be on signs, classifieds, at investment club meetings. You could set up networks of investors who either create notes for you to buy, or who find notes to sell for you. Once noteholders know that you have the money to buy paper, they will begin to contact you.

As David said, How many do you want?

Happy Investing!
