I have a different opinion of “good dialogue” than you.
Whenever a “thread” turns into a “mud-slinging” discussion it serves no purpose to keep it up. What ever good that was in the discussion is overshadowed by the “mud” and ruins the integrity and purpose of the discussion.
When a thread continues as a “discussion” it remains valuable and has no need to be taken down, regardless of the subject matter.
The question I always ask myself, is this: “Is this thread worth keeping in the archives?” If not, it’s gone!
