I always make an offer using a contract. Some people tell me that their local custom requires a letter of intent. I like using a contract because that way if they agree we can sign it on the spot, and if not we can negotiate the necessary price and terms right then and there.

Hi guys,

In writing an initial offer on a property, which is the best way to present it? Is it with a letter of interest stating the terms of the offer, i.e. “offer letter” or is it with a full blown contract?
