What’s in a name… - Posted by Karl (TN)

I have been notified by our county that I must name the private drive leading into my mobile home park. The county will supply the road sign and each unit with a new address instead of our present system Lot 1, Lot 2, etc.

So why am I telling you this. Well I am looking for suggestions to name the park/private Rd. It must be no more than 13 characters not incl the suffix. The suffix is limited to LN, Crl, Trl or Way.

I figured this forum is loaded with brilliant minds. Marty Woods this includes you. Please make suggestions and if your suggestion is selected, I will send you a picture of the sign and buy you a big ole beer.

Thanks for your help!

Easy Street–who wouldn’t want to live on it?
(I was just kidding at first, but it actually kind of grows on you.)

can’t see how you can do anything but “Crimson Tide Way” or something to that effect…

It’d be your own little dig at all the Vols and Tigers fans!

Accent the park in red… New flag pole…

OR…

you could let the park get run down and name it Volunteer Row or some other dig!

I like the other way better.

Best!

In choosing a name, consider (1) tenants, (2) future mhp buyer, &
(3) yourself. Tenants should not be embarrassed by the name of
the street on which they live. They should not have to spell it
when giving their address to others, & it should be easy for giving
directions (e.g., Oak Lane, Maple Dr.). Someday you’re going to
want to sell, & you don’t want a funky street sign that might turn
off an investor. Remember, you’re also going to have to give
directions to potential tenants, & you’ll probably have to address
envelopes to this street. Everyone is going to have to live w/your
decision for a long time, so do put some thought into this. Don’t
forget that an ambulance or firetruck may need to find one of
these addresses, so you want an uncomplicated address that
cannot be mistaken on a dispatch radio for something else. My
best friend lives on Paseo de la Cumbre, which may not in itself be
horrid, but every street in that development has a 4-word name &
it is a real pain to navigate. Let us know what you pick–

Lonnie Lane
Trailer Trail

What is the park like: Number of units? Type of resident you have? Type of resident you’d like? Are you in the mountains or out in western Tenn?

Without knowing anymore, I’ll take first shot: Roll Tide Way
Hope that helps,
James

LOL…I actually have a section of my town that has a “Lois Ln”, and “Metropolis Blvd” crossing it! Guess we know who the street-namer-guy was a fan of!
