It’s a very subjective question. Depends on your situation. Negative cash flow could be good for offsetting gains. Positive cash flow could be a good thing too…LOL. The question to ask is, what are my goals? Where do I want to be with this property. You should develop your strategy before making any moves. Do you want to cover expenses and rely on appreciation down the road? Are you borrowing the funds and need cash flow to cover the payments? Are you strictly looking for as much fre and clear income as you can get?
Each of these questions assume a particular scenario which only you can provide.
