I’m looking for an attorney also so I will share my thoughts with you.
First I’d find out if he’s able to do what you want to do in regards to real estate investing. What are your methods on real estate investing? Is it sub to, rehab, flipping, or commercial properties? Are you holding the properties for long term with tenants or short term for instant cash? There are many attorneys with many specialties. I’d find one that will fit your needs.
Second, I’d ask him for references of real estate investors he’s worked with. They can vouch for the attorney to see if he’s a good one to keep or a crooked one to lose.
A good place to search is martinedalelaw.com. This site searchs for attorneys by field in your area.
Good luck and good investing.
