What part(s) of contract do I fill out? - Posted by ChrisC

Would you try to pull your own teeth?

Of course not.

So why would you try to stumble through a legal document by yourself? Even if these aren’t complex deals, hire yourself a buyer’s RE Agent for your first deal, and then you’ll have a set of paperwork done right. Which you can do by yourself, maybe, the next time.

Also, there are a lot of issues in buying or selling a property that a layman should NOT attempt to handle alone…matters of property condition, disclosures, possession, etc., etc. Things that an experienced Agent deals with all the time, and that are well worth paying for.

RE purchase and sale are not matters on which to try to do yourself, unless you have lots of RE experience.

Dear Pro’s -

I’ve just picked up a copy of a real estate contract from the Chicago Board of Realtors. It’s supposedly a good, generic one. I asked the two people there how to fill it out. They didn’t know!

I just want to find junkers, tie them up, then flip to Rehab Investor. What parts do I fill out? Also, what part shows “Contingency clause” Does it have a special paragraph?

Thanks,

ChrisC
