I’m evicting a tenant and they are saying I don’t own the property - the property is owned by the LLC, which is recorded on state record WITHOUT me there. I do own a small percent ownership, but it was never recorded.

I’m just looking to remove the tenant and already have started the process, but this is her first defense for not paying.

What’s the best way to transfer ownership of the LLC?

In many (most?) states now, a single member LLC can represent itself (through its manager, you) in a court action in its name.

Check your states LLÇ statutes and I’ll bet you’ll find you can represent it yourself.

I don’t actually own the corporation wholly - just a percentage of it - changing it to a multi owned corporation. Do I need to be 100% owner at the time of court to follow through with the eviction?
