Does anybody else have these virus messages? I’ve been getting these for a few days and they seem to increase. I’ve seen names from people on this board as senders. I have norton and did a full scan with norton as well as housecall yesterday, but nothing found, So it doesn’t look as if the virus is on my computer. Even though i get all these returned messages, that supposedly came from me.
I wonder, if there’s a virus on the board and they’re mining the addresses?
Does anybody else have this happening or is it just me?
Could there be a virus around, that neither norton nor housecall can catch?

I would first ask you if your virus definitions are up to date. Some of the more nasty viruses will take the contact list and will email itself to everyone on the contact list. Payloads of the viruses can vary from being fairly harmless to a total loss of everything. I would check the actual header and see if the email actually origionated from you and or your ip. There are I believe web based scanners at www.sarc.com and more detailed discriptions of viruses and what they do there.

Often the virus will say that it came from someone other than who it came from. I have been getting mail bounced back from a website that I sold a few months ago. The mail account has not been chaged and I have not sent any mail from that account.
I have been getting a lot the last few days. But I don’t down load mail anymore.
My ISP has web mail I read off the web and I only download files that I know are secure.

Eric,
Actually, i’ve scanned it with Norton, which i have on my puter, but i’ve also done 2 full scans with ‘housecall’ of the web, which i’ve found to be really updated.
I believe the virus must have gotten email addresses from this site and now send out the virus with those addresses as senders, subsequently the ones, that are blocked bounce back to me, even though i didn’t send them. I guess, that’s what my little feeble ‘blonde mind’ is trying to tell me ;-).
i have received a virus mesage from ‘ed copp’, who is on this site and who i’ve never corresponded with.
