I’m a realtor in New Mexico. In our county, San Juan, the assessor’s office has a record of the VIN. It’s not public info, but the person on record as the owner of the home can call and get it.

a - if you bought it, then you should have a title. The VIN is on the title. If you bought with no title, shame on you.
b - could be nearly anything - some are 4 digits, some are like a car VIN
c - take the fuse box number to the phonme and call the DMV, or whomever does titling in yhour state - verify.
d - ask the previous owner
e - if everything craps out, check with the local police or state police, whomever does vehicle inspections - they may know where to find it.
Good luck.
