The course work in economic geography would certainly help, but is STILL quite unnecessary. Most Americans have little idea how a multi-barrel carb works on their car, but still manage to get to their J.O.B.s in the morning. Most Americans haven’t the slightest on currency futures but still understand that a trade deficit is bad. It is self-study of contract law, taw law, marketing, and a little business management. Some colleges even have course work for small entrep. since the mid 80s. When I mentor, I say that experience is TEN TIMES more powerful than book learning. So my next question is how many thousands of dollars do you want to send for someone to hold your hand? Not that I’m bitter, it’s just that some of us did send that kind of money on training (cough, cough) only to find out that experience is a much better (and as Joe Kaiser (at Joe@nothingdown.com) would say) “more expensive” teacher.
Whenever I can I learn from someone else?s mistakes I jump on the opportunity, because that is the cheapest you will ever get off. I learned to never be my own landlord because that?s NOT investing and it can be done much better by someone else. I have learned to have someone do the long form (taxes) and the loan appl.s cause that is not investing. I have learned to not hit the books so HARD cause
THAT IS NOT INVESTING.
but I digress?Ramsey R Smith
