A trustee is someone who holds legal title to property for the benefit of another, or to secure performance of an obligation.

Hello…
I am currently involved in a short sale with lender and seller. It is my first one and I don’t want to screw the pooch. My question is, if I take the title warranty deed to trustee and in (Illinois), can I appoint myself trustee and then assign myself, or my Corp the beneficial interest in the transaction?
Or should I just have the owner quit claim the deed to me or my Corp and just close like that. Any input would be helpful.
Thanks, Dave
