I’m going to assume from your name that you’re located somewhere in Florida. If so, I strongly suggest that you log onto www.floridalandlord.com and click on the Property Maintenance Tab. There’s an excellent checklist on how to hire a legitimate contractor or repairman.

I’m trying to decide between using a General Contractor or a Handyman. I know that Gen. Contractor are on the expensive side, but does anyone know what a “fair price” is for a handyman? Do you pay by the hour, the project? Can anyone help? thanks!
