I do not know the procedure in your state - but the local clerks probably do. Buy them a bit of food, make nice, and ask. While doing title searches for initial research is OK, before you actually close on a property, get it professionally done - doing otherwise is penny wise, pound foolish in a serious way.
I’m tring to do research on properties and I don’t have the money for expensive title searches. So I’m trying to get the info. myself. I know I need the history card and I can get the mortgage ifno. from the clerk of courts. I am stuck on how to search for mechanics liens and other types of liens. Do I just put the name in the computer at the records vault and all liens including real estate mortgages and taxes come up? Please help.
