We send ours via postal mail, with a self-addressed stamped envelope inside. It comes with a nice little letter explaining that we’ll use it on our marketing and website (but keep their names and info anonymous).

Ok, ok… I’ll admit it! We bribe them with a $25 gift certificate to the restaurant of their choice. We’ve only had two deals now, but got back a testimonial. =D

For all of you that get testimonials I know this sounds silly but how do yo get them?

Do you just say hey dude can I get a testimonial? Or do you hand them a piece of paper where they fill in their testimonial and give you permission to use it? Or what?
