Yah, that is what is happening. They are afraid to come to the door so the notice of the court date had to be posted to it. with court approval, of course. cross the t, do the i’s and give me my judgement. i bet i end up paying to store their crap. Cannot figure out how someone can decide to stay even beyond the lease-end date. Whatevs.

I have to live in a hotel because the tenant living in my condo has not left. The tenant has a court date and seems clueless to what is really happening.

Am I able to sue for the costs of me (landlord) having to live in a hotel while I wait for their slackbutts to be hauled out of my place?

I’m no lawyer, but in America, you can sue anyone for anything; having said that, what does your lease agreement say about all this? Did the bum agree to pay your expenses after being told to leave? If he can’t make the lease payment, he probably can’t pay a judgement, either.
