Tony, I have used it to fix storm doors. Just make sure its the 1/4 inch thickness. I don’t think lowes sells it that size and thickness. I had to go to a glass store to get mine.

From time to time I run into a problem with the interior (storm) windows of mobile homes. The window is fine but the little black points at the top of these frames that ride in the window track snap off.
Has anyone found a replacement part? I have always had to order new windows with run over $38.
Anyone found a way to make this part or something that works?
Thanks,
Tony

You might want to try some of the older mom and pop hardware stores. Sometimes they have a guy in the back room that fixes windows and screens. And by the way, often the outside window will be glued in before they put the little spline around it. It can be tough to get out all the fragments of glass that remain glued to the frame when replacing the window. I use a “Multi-tool”. Its the thing that has the blade that oscillates back and forth. Great tool for getting caulk off from behind the window frame when you take it off the house also. I always replace the window with quarter inch plexi glass and caulk it in. The rocks thrown by the vandals just bounce right off.

Hey Mike,
Have you had to use plexiglass on larger windows? I have a 44 inch by 24 inch (or so) window that I just want to replace the broken glass. Just wondering if this is too large for plexi.
