I have yet to hear anyone needing a license for doing notes. Nor any tax IDs. As far as a seperate phone number, that might be a good Idea. I would suggest the deal that you can get at Radio shack for about $40.
Then $40 per year or something like that. Yes you can do it out of your apartment.

What are the requirements for starting a note business? For example, do I need a license for the business, a tax id number, a separate telephone number, register with the state I live in? Can I run the business from out of my apartment?
