Try endorsing it to you and depositing into your own account, or open a new account in his name using the POA, cash it, then close the account.

A third option, which I just did last week, is to call the former owner, ask him to sign it over to you, then cash it. He obliged, without any renumeration, although I was willing to bribe him $50 to comply.

I rec’d a check, written to the owner, from the bank holding the escrow for overages. How do I endorse the check as the power of attorney???
