Ok, you go on thinking that.

hi,

does anyone know if a home with a disabled child living in it can actually be sold in a sheriff’s sale??

aren’t there laws that protect that child from becoming homeless & if so how can i find out about them??

have less then 2 mos. to straighten this out.the price the courthouse is asking for is still too much to come up with in a very short time!!

thanks for any help!!

AS I MENTIONED BEFORE, THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN SOLVED.I NO LONGER NEED ANY COMMENTS . ESPECIALLY SMART A** ONES.
I WAS HONESTLY LOOKING FOR HELP / INFO. IN POSS.GETTING AN EXTENSION, NOT ACTING LIKE WE SHOULDN’T HAVE TO PAY.
OUR SON IS TERMINALLY ILL & IN A WHEELCHAIR SINCE BIRTH & I WAS VERY UPSET BY THE FACT THAT WE MAY NOT HAVE A HOUSE BECAUSE HIS FATHER FORGOT TO PAY HIS TAXES&DIDN’T TELL ME ABOUT IT. THE LAST THING I NEED IS OTHERS ACTING LIKE I’M AN IDIOT.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH TO THE ONE PERSON WHO DID HAVE A KIND RESPONSE FOR ME . I APPRECIATE YOUR TIME.

I’m sure the next thing you’ll day is that obesity is a disability, and thus fat people should be able to live in a house without paying rent and instead spend all of their money at McDonalds. Heck, let those “rich” landlords bear the cost.

Actually, you may be right. I know of a case where the parents died and a minor child was left with the house. The bank claimed they could not pursue foreclosing because of the minor child being left the house. I don’t know if there is anything pertaining to that effect with a minor disabled child or not. But it seems there is something where a minor child is left with the house when both parents are deceased.

Check with a good attorney in your area that knows about disability laws and minors.

luckily after posting my problem /question, i was told i have a family member who will pay the amount due & can pay her back when income taxes come in jan.

Thank God & Her!!

i still think there is some kind of law out there re; disabled people & their rights, if not then there should be !!

we live in s.w. pa. & i know when it comes to utillities, they can’t shut them off if a disabled person, or child lives in your home.

thank you for your attention.

Yah right. If that were true, every deadbeat and his sister would be taking in some disabled foster kid so they could live free for decades. Really it’s not the bank’s responsibility to see that your kid has a roof over his head, it’s YOURS!
