NOT…Timeshares are loser propositions that sell for something like 10 cent on the dollar. You should tell your MIL never to buy a timeshare. Its NOT a real estate investment and is no investment at all.

Don’t pay anyone an up front fee to advertise it for you. They do not deliver! This includes a big C-21 outfit.
I sold mine on eb*y. The Tug2 site is another great place to go. But realize that most of the initital price of timeshare is in marketing. Resales may bring only 10-50% of the original price. This is true market value. So you have to sell at a bargain price, but remember you can also buy at a bargain price.
Selling is expensive and the resale prices are not really close to what you paid. Try tstoday.com and tug2.net for more information. As it is wisely publicized, do not pay upfront fees for selling. I have 2 in Hawaii and I may trade one for the one in Acapulco if interested. I am going there in March. I seem to like the 2 near the airport but we shall see.
Thanks for your response. I will investigate. Yes, I warned my Mother-In-Law about paying in advance for some “service”. I will check out your web sites that you recommend…I don’t know if she’ll “trade” with you…she actually has two, and wants to sell one, but I will present this to her.

I took a timeshare in as part of a trade on a mobile home.I got it basically free.I now bank it with RCI and can travel to VERY nice places for around $600 a week.It is a pretty good thing if you just want something to use and have a nice area to stay(UPPERCLASS ) from a motel… but for an investment… NO, DONT BUY IT>
Great! How many hundred do you want? Please try to sell it!
No, seriously, thanks for your response, your intuition is just like mine. I told my Mother-in-Law to never give money to someone who “promises” to advertise and “try” to sell it for her.
