This is where I live and buy also. Jim is 100% correct especially when it comes to Siesta. There are some deals but prices seem to be inflated. DO your homework. I just picked up a home in a near by island for 390 with an arv of around 690.

I’ve worked that area some lately, and know a few folks down that way.
I love the area, it’s simply beautiful, GREAT beach, etc.
The thing is, over the last 2-3 yrs, the market went nuts, and prices went VERY high for that area.
Speculators jumped in, and now, its surely a buyers market.
Problem is, most of the folks calling me from there, are encumbered to the hilt.
Still some deals to be had, but VERIFY your value, by comps within the last 3 months, nothing earlier, trust me there.
Some may have a different take, but that’s what I’ve seen from my marketing results in that area.
