Covenant “prohibits raising of livestock such as poultry, goats, pigs or other domesticated animal, except dogs, cats and other household pets in a reasonable number may be kept provided they are not kept, bred or maintained for commercial purpose or constitute a danger”

Would horses break that covenant? Live in North Carolina

I think it is pretty clear that the covenants prohibit rasing of any animal except household pets. Unless you plan on keeping the horse in the house, then you may have an argument. My guess would be that the covenants specically mention pigs, goats and chickens, because some people would keep pigs, goats and chickens in their house.

You should direct this question to your homeowner’s association as they will have the final say, no matter what anyone on this board says.
