I had a potential seller ask me this earlier. The seller is currently collecting social security and wants to know if refinancing a home that he owns free and clear would affect his social security payments.

I know if he wished to get medicaid and social security to assist in paying for his stay at a nursery home, he’d have to have sold the property years ago. But I haven’t heard anything about refinancing and social security. Anyone?
