recording a lien yourself - Posted by andy65

In my state of Georgia anyone with a valid state Id can record a lien or a deed. Your state may be different but I doubt only a attorney can. Best thing to do is call the State court clerk or DMV for a Mobile Home without the land.
Happy investing.

Providing seller financing. Is it possible to record a lien myself or is this something only an attorney can do?

MH & auto liens not recorded - Posted by John Merchant

One can record RE documents but generally not car or any other personal property liens.

To “record” is legal language for filing for public record RE docs in county records so they go into title history to be freely seen by anyone.

Car and MHs w/o land and their titles and liens are handled by your DMV dept or whichever agency in your state handles such.

I never heard of needing a lawyer to handle a car or MH sale or title transfer or lien.

Generally a dealer or anyone selling or buying a car, truck or Mobile Home can just take his paperwork to the counter and deal directly with the clerk to get this done.

If you’ll do so the clerk will quickly tell you how to sell w O financing, a car or Mobile Home there and will also gladly hand you the required state forms used in doing so.

this is very clearly defined in Deals On Wheels - if you have not read the book (or re-visited), you are spinning your wheels.

Do the homework, then call the taxing and titling agencies directly and ask them your questions.

(That oughta p*$$ somebody off . . .)
