Your assessment statement should have a procedure to follow if you question their assessment. If it doesn’t, call them and ask what you have to do to get them to review and possibly change the assessment. Keep in mind that if you can sell it for $7,000, it is worth $7,000 for the assessment. If you would not be able to get $7,000 for it, then they should lower the assessment to a reasonable price.

We have property that has been subdivided to 7 lots. Original lotâ??s tax assessment value was about $7,000 and sum changes. Now that we have lot subdivided to 7 lot re-assessment value changed as $7,000 each instead $1,000 per lot.
