Hi JS,
I am a newbie in Michigan also. My husband and I just joined the Real Estate Investors of Oakland. They meet the second Friday of every month at The Stephenson Haus in Hazel Park. It has been very informative so far. We are still “floating” also, but it is beginning to “ground” us. The next meeting is June 11. You can reach them for more information by calling (800) 747-6742.
