Yea, I had a few originals in there too if I recall correctly. Sure wish I could remember my own advice!

I love collecting ‘quotes’ and ‘sayings’ about property, real estate and investing.

“Don’t wait to buy real estate, buy real estate and wait.”

“I bought a two story house. …One story before I bought, and another after”

“If you think nobody cares about you, try missing a few mortgage repayments”

Please let me know your favourite quotes and sayings.

THANKS

As buyer: “I can’t start high and work my way down.” What will you take if my offer is too low?

As seller: “I can’t start low and work my way up.” How much do you have to spend if my asking price is too high?

“Evictions? I don’t have problems getting rid of tenants. Once the exterior doors are removed, they get the idea.”

“Once you know how, buying rental property is easy. Making good investments and managing them to a profit is the advanced course…”

Tim Fierro revisited - Posted by Wayne-NC

For those of you who have been around a while, some of these sayings have been posted in the course of conversations and postings by Tim Fierro in his “top ten”. It was continued for a while by Michela as well and the idea was quite comical at times, especially when some sayings were taken out of context. It was definitely a source of amusement and a welcome relief along the daily drudgery of postings that sometimes seem same 'ol, same 'ol. Well, let me add another one to an already enjoyable list and it was from my father.
“We always plan for perfection, but always come out average”. One of many that I recall and requote but this one seemed to be most appropriate for REI.

I am too old for a paper route.

I am too young for social security

I am too tired for an affair

How to become a real estate millionaire… Start with 2 million.

Of coure that saying has now been revised slightly to reflect the current status of the market… and changed to read: Start with 3 million.

Just a little humor and reflective of todays market.

If I buy it cheap enough, it doesn’t matter how much I subsequently screw up, I’ll still come out ahead.
If I pay too much, it doesn’t matter how subsequently brilliant I am, I’m gonna lose my shirt.

Equity is not the same as cash. (Boy, have I re-learned that one this year!)

Good memories, those Top Ten Out of Context posts! I was certainly in
the top more than a few times. And not for any wisdom to be sure, but
rather for not thinking before typing.
