As far as I know they parted amicably, but he is now a partner in a competing site, so he sells his course through his own site.

Quickbooks - rental chart of accounts - HELP - Posted by DavidGOR

Does someone know of a book that describes how to best set up
Chart of Accounts for SFR rentals in Quickbooks? (does
anyone know how to best do it for Subject-Tos?) I’ve looked at
almost every book in the bookstore and couldn’t find anything on how.
Suggestions, please!?
Or, if you can export yours and e-mail it to me, I would LOVE to see how.

Quickbooks is an inferior solution for rental properties. It wasn’t intended for that. It can be made to work for property management, but at its best it works badly.

Dave:
I’m into rentals, use Quickbooks, so I’ll e-mail you my COA later today.
Had a conversation with John Hyre a while back about his KISS guide where he’s mostly on cash basis accounting. I on the other hand book my rent receivables onto the AR ledger, and use the AR ledger to track my past due tenants.
Because I’m on cash basis for tax reporting, I do year end adjustments to net out any unpaid rents.

John Hyre, the real estate investor, attorney tax guru, I believe designed just what you are looking for in a software program, chart of accounts called KISS, to work with Quickbooks. Check it out at http://www.realestatecoursereviews.com/johnhyre2.htmt.

Why isn’t John Hyre’s course on CREOnline anymore? Did they get into a squabble?
