I’m looking at purchasing a four unit retail building, I own a couple residential SFH rentals and I’m looking to diversify into commercial. I’ve got the rent roll for the building and the numbers look good (or at least I feel confident that we can get them where they need to be). Before I go look at the buildings I would like to gather more information. The rent roll includes the lease details for each unit, so I know when the lease started, when it expires, rent increases, and renewal options. What other questions should I be asking?
