Because I am your classic internet dummy, can someone please explain to me what those numbers in parentheses - for example, (0), (1), or (whatever) - mean that are always found at the end of subject lines?

I think if you compare those numbers to the number of posts below the post you will find them to be the same.

I think the longest thread I have seen here had something like 117 posts to it. Or at least that was what the parenthesis monitor said–I did not count to verity.
