Thanks. The house is really a log cabin up in the mountains. I’ll check with the county land development office to see what the limitations are.

I’d like to put a shed on my property and also build a deck on to the back of my house on the same property, which is in Georgia. How close to the property line can I put/build each? Thanks.

The guys are correct. There are several places to check. My subdivision also has its lot line rules in our covenants and restrictions. My builder put my pool too close to the rear lot line and we had to get the homeowner’s association to release it because it violated the community covenants and restrictions. If they had not released it, when time came to sell the property, they could have forced me to fill in the pool.

Chet is correct. Another thing to check is if there are CC&R’s which prevent the building of the shed or deck.
I live on an 18 hole championship golf course and they would have coniption fits if I even asked the local property owners association to let me do either of those.
Good Luck,
Bill H

This is a local code issue. call the city or county planning dept. and as the zoning question.
Many municipal codes are online now as can be searched that way.
