I wrestle with investment minimums also. One factor to consider is how near the person is to retirement age.

You’re looking for folks who will give you enough cash to play with. With the continuing flight from common stocks, I’d look for a $25K to $30K minimum rather than $2,500 to $3,000 simply because of the handholding involved.

Instead of a percentage of profits, stick with a straight return that you can guarantee. It?s more easily grasped.

I am meeting with people who are willing to use their 401k retirement plans to back my real estate investing. My question is what should be a minimum investment when dealing with these people? I am currently trying Wholesale/Retail, which is why I need these funds.
