Peter Conti/David Finkel - Mentorship Program - Posted by Daygo
Posted by Daygo on June 30, 2004 at 20:46:39:
Hello everyone,
I am brand new to field of real estate investing and have done a lot of research on the internet and read my share of books on REI. I have decided, like many of you, that REI is the road to financial independence and it is time to take the necessary steps to become successful.
In my research, I stumbled across a couple books by Peter Conti and David Finkel and I was impressed with the amount of information they were able to convey to a newbie like myself. I also went to their website at www.resultsnow.com and saw that they offered a 3-phase 18 month mentorship program. It seems like this could be a benefit for someone brand new to REI like myself. It appears that they “hand hold” you throughout their mentorship program to increase your chances for success.
I was wondering if anyone on this newsgroup had any experience with their mentorship program and if it is worth the investment (they say you need a minimum of $1500 to invest). Is it better to get out there and learn on your own or is it wise to invest in a mentorship program such as this to help you get started out on the right foot? Any comments and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Daygo

we are looking into going to the three day workshop. To me the money will be worth it. We have watched and read the material that has been sent to us. And already we feel it has helped us immensely. You get what you pay for. I have learned this the hard way. Its not worth trying to go cheap, you wont get the results you are looking for.
good luck, tina

The program is $5995.00 50% of the first 2 deals is split with them at this price which includes all of the course materials. (5 courses and DVDs) you also attend a 3 day training where they actually make you set appointments to see sellers.

Hi,
I’ve been looking into the Conti Mentorship Program, too. I’ve had my interview and been accepted, but I’m having a hard time deciding if it’s worth the $6000 fee. Like you, I thought I only needed $1,500, but the course costs a full $6000.
I’ve recently stumbled upon a mentorship course by a guy named Ken Preuss. His mentorship program only cost $500 and it apprears to cover much of the same material. I think it’s new, so I’m not finding much feedback about him. I’m thinking about starting with him and then maybe doing the Conti program if I still feel like I need it.
If anyone has any information about or experience working with Ken Preuss, I’d love to hear it.
Thanks,
Ann B

Hi Guys,
Your books have helped me do 4 deals in 4 months landing $80,000K, my goals are now to do 4 deals per month. To do this, more leads are needed.
I am having one heck of a time finding a “owner non-occupant” list to target landlords with a killer postcard. Would you be so kind to point me in the right direction of a list company that can deliver this?
I am glad to give you endorsements, even though you probably have no shortage. Please assist

I have received serveral of their newletters and find them very good. I’m a REI. I didn’t learn in the beginning and let someone else guide me, a family member that went to serveral seminars.
I think you will do much better getting your own education.I say continue to investigate these people until you get some good info on the courses and feel confident that you will learn from them. A lot of the seminars will give you good info but it is the small details that you really need that are let out or not quite well understood.
Everyone is teaching and it is hard to know who’s good and who’s not. I think they are all over priced. However, information cost but it pays for itself if YOU USE IT.
I’ve been to several different seminars and have learned somethiing from each one that I attended. You will pay one way or the other either in mistakes or paying for someone to help you minimize mistakes. You may want to check your local REI club and talk to some of the people that are there and ask their opinion of the seminar guru’s. I think having someone to mentor you is better thatn going it alone. 50% of something is better that 50% of nothing.

I’m in exact same position as you. I’m seriously thinking about Alexis McGee and her program at foreclosures.com Seems like she is a very credible individual and will mentor someone through the process. I am convinced of the need to learn from someone else’s trial and error. Experience is not the best teacher…someone else’s experience can be the best teacher and save a lot of time. I know that from other business I’ve been in. I’d be interested to speak with you directly so perhaps we can learn from and help each other. Look forward to your response. My email is csobin@verizon.net.

Isn’t the cost of the mentorship around 5K-10K? This really too much. You can buy courses, and read books, that will cost you less.

hi guys, have you taken alexis’ course yet. I have and so glad i did. Did first her homestudy 8 hr Cd, then her 3 day Lab/coaching in her office. The best thing I’ve ever did. Already have 7 deals closed and over $350k in net profits… this year alone!
Do it quickly, as word of mouth is spreading on this ONE REAL GURU who actually cares if you succeed.

Thanks for the responses. I’ve heard it’s a minimum of $1500 to invest and depending on the level of mentorship the price can go up to about $10,000 which can be paid by splitting deals they work with you on.
It does sound like a pretty steep price to pay for someone to hand-hold you through your deals.
Do any of you suggest a more cost effective way to get started in this business or do you just have to do as much research on REI as possible and then get out there and go after as many deals as possible and learn as you go. It seems like most people read up on REI as much as possible and learn through trial and error, as well as, message boards such as this.
I’m just trying to minimize my learning curve and maximize my success rate in this business.

Hi
My name is Jeff Safier. I am thinking of doing the mentorship program. All I have to do is say yes. Did you find it was worth it? I cannot attend the first day of intensive training so they are going to send me videos of the whole thing. The cost is $5995 with splitting your first two deals.
Can I call you also? what time zone r u in?

The training is in her office, Sacramento CA, 3 days. Only 8 people. All get 100% attention. She does it based on demand/requests. Her schedule is very full. You can see the next available here:
