a new gas furnace, it would be more efficient to operate, and would have a guarantee. An oil furnace can be converted to gas but many of the parts including the heat exchanger would be the old furnace parts and may fail at some short time in the future.

It also depends on your plans for the property.

  1. if you’re selling soon maybe leave the old furnace in presuming that it works.

  2. if you are renting this place then maybe a lower priced furnace without all the bells and wistles will do.

  3. if this is your personal residence and you’re staying put for a long time, then a top of the line or near top of the line gas furnace might pay off in the long run.

I currently have a furnace that is oil based that I want to convert to gas in Baltimore City. I need someone who can check out the furnace to make sure it works and can be converted. I will also have the oil tank up for sale after that. If anyone can help or knows someone who can, please email me or call me at 301-502-0191. Thanks!!
