Can you obtain info on a Federal court case online ?

I would like to find out the details on a huge mortgage fraud case in Ohio and all the individuals who have been named in the indictment. Can’t seem to google my way to it.

Thanks,
Keith

Sometimes it isn’t easy to find info on a pending criminal prosecution but here’s how I’d proceed to try to get it if possible:

Call the Federal District Clerk in that Fed Court in OH where the indictment was handed down, and ask the clerk if the indictment is publicly available for you to see if you went to the clerk’s office.

If the Clerk doesn’t have it, then call the US District Attorney’s office and ask them the same question.

If the indictment isn’t sealed, it might be available for public viewing, either at the Clerk’s office or the US District Attorneys office…but understand that many Grand Jury Indictments are sealed so they are not available for public viewing.

Next thing I’d do is check with the local newspaper and talk to their courthouse reporter to see what that reporter knows…they have time-tested resources they use and the reporter might, if she likes you, let you in on what’s going on.
