Sounds like it’s leased land. Do some research on “NNN”, or “triple-net” leases. Most suburban drugstores (for example) are built on leased land.

I know someone in Queens that owns a 4 unit for the last 18 years and they are forced to sell because the owner of the land wants it back so they are selling their building. I heard of this in MH parks but not in NY,NY. Has anyone heard of this??
