Not exactly a real estate related questions - Posted by Brian W(IL)

I would like to know if it is possible to remove a bankruptcy, which was discharged in 1998, from my credit report? What about accounts which were included in the bankruptcy? Also a tax lien which was paid off? And finally a car repo? I have decent credit score of about mid-600s, however, would like to increase to potentially in the 700s and was thinking that if I was able to successfully remove these items, my credit score would increase substantially. Thanks

Here’s a website that you might try! This is a credit cleanup website.

Brian, yours is a question of persistence. Is it possible to remove these derogatory items the answer is yes IF you are persistent in your endeavor. Search the archives on the credit or credit repair, check out Lexington law.com also credit info center.com or do a “google” search on credit repair. Good luck

I don’t know about the other items, but a bankruptcy can stay on your credit report for ten years. A foreclosure is removed after seven years – maybe it is the same time line for a vehicle repo.
