As a buyer, using a licensed real estate agent doesn’t “cost” you anything, you have an experienced person to assist you, negotiate on your behalf, help you obtain a loan, assist with contracts, disclosures and the myriad of paperwork that goes with a real estate transaction.

I am a fairly new investor. I own my home, however I would like to begin looking into apartment buildings.

What should I ask the potential apt. bldgs sellers when I call them so I don’t appear unknowledgeable and scare the deal away?

What size deals/#of units should I look at?

Is there a website that list the sellers of apt. buildings?

Thanks

Dejan,

Try Loopnet.com for listings.

I have no idea what size deals you should look at because you’ve said nothing about your experience, capital or investment goals.

The only way to now appear unknowledgeable is to gain knowledge. Try the How-To Articles section of the website (menu at the top left of the newsgroup), and you may want to start with my article about performing commercial property due diligence.
