…mobile home lots on someone else’s land. Its hard enough to make money moving mobiles onto already developed lots. It will be a guaranteed loss to do this.

If you want to be charitable give her a big Christmas present.

Regards, doc

I have a grandmother with a couple of acres in south carolina. She has been looking for someone in the family to use the land for something since she doesn’t want to sell it. My brother and I were thinking about placing a couple of repo 2-3 bedroom mobile homes (est. $500-$2000)on the land and renting them out. This would be my first time landlording a mobile home so I was wondering if anyone had some tips or suggestions. Are there any laws specific to the rental of a mobile home that I need to be aware of? Do I need any permits to place a mobile home on vacant land from the county? Are there any books/tapes on the subject that are recommended. Thanks for your help!
