And remember to be flexible with that date and time. It might have to be set for when you can get a ‘room’ to have the meetings on a consistant basis.

You may want 3rd Thursday of each month at 06:00 PM, but may only be able to get 3rd Tuesdays @ 07:00 PM.

Get the list of dates and times people like, but use it as a guide to see if people like morning/nights, weekdays/weeknights; and combine that with the ‘room’ that you want to get to host it.

Wish we had one in Ventura County, Ca. area (#2 most expensive area to live in USA!) The closest one I can find is a 2+hr drive. Being a newbie I want to saturate myself in as much of “the community” as possible. Those of you experienced ones, is it worth the drive?

Is that the correct email?!?!?!? - Posted by G. DeMars

I’ve been looking for a group in the South/East Bay Area. The City & Sonoma are too far to drive, and I’d like to deal with, and learn from, people in my own area. Similar battlefield conditions, similar tactics.

I sent you an email, but got back a strange autoresponce, at least I think it’s from you, can’t be certain. Anybody else get the same email, kinda funny, but… hmmmm… odd? I’d describe it, but this is a family forum.

Anyway I doubt it’s from the REIgroup. Although I’m not interested in the email, I’m very interested in the group.

IMHO Small groups are the best and cheapest way for a newbie to get started (think: trading course material), and a pro to get pro-er (is that a word?)

Look forward to meeting you all.

I’ve been waiting for South Bay club! Awhile back I belonged to the Los Angeles area club, and I know that without that club I would never have done my first deal!

When I moved to the San Jose area I looked for a good REI club, but didn’t find one. Glad to see one being formed, count me in.

If you’re just starting, and can’t seem to get the first deal going, attending a local club is probably your best move to geeting a deal. You can read all the courses and posts you can find, but there’s nothing like meeting face-to-face with people, in your neighborhood, who are actually doing deals. Also this is a great way to meet various experts how you can add to your “inner-circle team”. At the Los Angeles meetings I met a great title officer, a honest contractor, a hard-money lender, and scores of people who had answers to my question.

I also met 3 partners who I’ve done deals with. I can’t over estimate the power of these local groups!

Rich, I’d say “good luck” with your new group, but we all know that “Luck” has nothing to do with creative real estate. Preperation, knowledge, persistence, and finally CONTACTS bring success. So instead of wishing you good luck, I’m wishing all my fellow Bay Area wheelers and dealers “good contacts” with this new group.

If you live in the South Bay, please join and say hello to me and let’s do some deals!

Count me in, I can’t wait!
