Unless I’m reading your post wrong, it sounds like you want an attorney who closes transactions, as opposed to an attorney who merely advises and advocates your legal matters, correct?
If so, CA generally uses title insurance companies to close transactions, with the following proviso:
In Southern Calif. it’s common to use third party escrow companies, although real estate brokers may perform this service in conjunction with their own transactions.
In Northern Calif., it’s pretty standard for title companies to perform both the insuring and closing.
We happen to use a title company in Riverside for most all of our transactions throughout CA. Try Old Republic at (800) 223-4725 and ask for Advisory Title officer Carol Otay. They can probably help you with both insurance and closing from one office.
If you really do need an attorney for something in particular, you could either ask ORTC for a referral or try the Riverside County (CA) Bar Assoc. Legal Referral Service. If you go the Findlaw.com route, you may find a plethura of names but not much in terms of info like you would by a personal referral.
