Gang,

I have everything in place, including money to put down. But I have one problem. The mortgage lender I’m working with gave me a rate at 10%. I think this is a little steep, but he told me my debt-to-income ratio is to high. He said this is a very competitive rate under the circumstances. Have any of you experienced anything similar or know of any lenders who might give me a lower rate? I’m just trying to weight all my options before I move forward.

I’m trying to purchase a property in Atlanta.

Despite your high DTI what kind of credit scores do you have? Depending on those I could tell you what a fair rate is for you.
