One of the guys from Vermont that’ll be with us just bought a commercial block in downtown St. Johnsbury. I’ll hook you up with him. I’m sure he can give you a lot of useful information.
This again is a great example of the networking that can take place at the Convention. John and his wife are going to their first Convention and one of our guys has just bought the block talked about above in John’s hometown. Don’t you think John will be talking to this guy who is a very experienced successful longtime investor.
My wife and I will be attending our 1st convention and I am looking for advice as far as what to expect and what we should make sure that we do(or not do).
We have been mom and pop investers for the last 12 years and are looking to get pumped up.
I am fortunate enough to be able to work at this full time but feel that I need a little more direction and from the sounds of some of the feedback I have read, we are going to the right place.
We live in northern Vermont where real estate investing clubs do not exist(I am still trying).
We are truely looking forward to this time to take in as much info as possible and rub elbows with people with the same goals as us.
In addition to what Phil has said: The Friday banquet dinner is another great networking opportunity. You will get to meet the other attendees at your table. And after dinner and coffee, our staff puts up signs state-by-state, so that’s an easy way to find others from VT.
Good decision. This will be my 7th CREONline Convention. First one back in 1999. We have a contingent of 7 of us going from Vermont, so our tiny state will be well represented.
My advice would be to get lots of rest before the Convention. You’ll want to be up late talking shop with everybody. The group at the Convention are all down to earth people. Very enthusiatic and helpful. Don’t be shy. Once upon a time we all went to our first Convention.
Dress is casual. I’ve worn both long pants and shorts at the Convention usually with a nice dress shirt or a golf shirt.
Take advantage of the great buffet every morning that is put on just prior to the days first speaker. There is a great opportunity to network at breakfast.
Thursday, the day before the Convention when we all arrive is another good time to talk creative real estate.
I could go on and on, but I know you will have the time of your lives and learna lot and really get pumped up. In the past I’ve done some of my most profitable deals right after I returned home from the Convention.
Oh and one last thing. You will probably have to deal with all of the Howard Dean jokes. No state is perfect.
